Euthanasia - Should it be legalised ?

++COPYRIGHT STEPHANIE NYSSA GOMEZ++

Euthanasia means the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefits (Schindler 2011). If death is not intended, then it’s not called euthanasia. Euthanasia is usually done to end or escape pain and suffering of the patient’s life. Another word for euthanasia is Mercy Killing. There are many types of euthanasia which are voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia, involuntary euthanasia, assisted suicide, physician assisted suicide, euthanasia by action and euthanasia by omission.
Euthanasia should be legalised. This is because it’s the person own request so we should accept that as they have been suffering for a long time. We don’t know what they are going through and what their feelings are while going through the suffering. We should put our self in other’s shoe. Then we can know how the patients who suffer feel. The patients who request for euthanasia usually because they cannot take the pain any longer, they don’t want to burden others or they have lost hope in continuing his or her life. If we force them to continue to live, what kind of life would that be for them. An unwanted life full of sufferings and sadness. It doesn’t mean that everyone should be supporting suicide here. Euthanasia and suicide is completely different.  Suicide as defined by Desai (2008) means an act or instance of intentionally killing oneself. Mostly, it’s because of depression. Euthanasia or mercy killing is committed on the basis of medical reasons, where the death of a terminally ill person is brought about by another person, who believes that such person’s existence is so bad that he or she would be better off dead; also when his actions are based on the conviction that unless he intervenes and ends the ill person’s life, it shall become so bad that he or she would be better off dead.
Secondly, euthanasia should be legalised because it’s the right of a competent, terminally ill person to avoid excruciating pain and embrace a timely and dignified death to avoid unendurable pain (Answers Corporation 2011). If there is already no other way or medication to cure the person or if the person has been in the same state for a long time, what should they be waiting for? All religions believe in God and miracles. Yes, and people also believe that maybe that patient would one day get healthy and walk around like a normal person. For the person who is waiting for the patient to get well they don’t feel anything. All they feel is hope and faith. What about that poor, sickly patient who is lying on the bed for a long time not being able to do anything? Wouldn’t they feel useless not being able to conquer their own body? They have to be dependent on other people for a long time and in some cases maybe for the rest of their life. For example, Dianne Pretty was suffering from motor neurone disease and wanted to die. She and her husband petitioned the courts to give immunity from prosecution to her husband if he were to help her to kill herself. He did not get immunity, the disease took its inevitable course, and Dianne Pretty died in hospital under exactly the sort of conditions she had wanted to avoid (rsrevision 2011).
Thirdly, euthanasia should only be done if the person requests it. It shouldn’t be done without the person’s permission. The family members, relatives, friends, physician or doctor neither of them have the rights to take the patient’s life without his or her permission. It’s the patient who is going through the sufferings so they are the one who know whether they can still go through all the pain and hope for the best or the pain is too unbearable that they just want to die. Priority should be given to the patients.
In conclusion, euthanasia should be legalised but there should be very strict guidelines before a euthanasia request could be filed. There is no point of waiting for the person to die or heal if there is nothing the doctors can do about it. They patient should be given euthanasia if they really request it and their condition is really bad. Euthanasia should be done to make the person’s excruciating pain end immediately.

New Year 2013

Hey ! Its been a real long time since I updated my blog. Well holidays make me busy besides Christmas and New Year is something that I would never miss ! I had an awesome Christmas+New Year but when its time to get back to college on 7th January.... I was like "Can I have more holidaysss please ??!" But yeah life have to go on.

I didn't like the fact that we had to start our new sem with new classmates ='( I really miss my old class"es" especially the Shellianz that I really love and adore . They were the best ! How could I ever forget the sweet memories I had with them . Winning competitions, decorating class till late at night, eating together at Mamak, watching horror movies whenever we had free time and teasing each other .

When we have it, we will never realize what we have but when its gone, that's when we will miss it the most !

But God is with me always ! Eventhough I didn't like the fact that they shuffled the classes, I really love my new tablemates: Syu, Ida, Jan and Jingle . They are all caring and funny at the same time . Makes me stress-free . That doesn't mean I'll forget my ex-tablemates: Yana, Ainaa, Syafna, Zura, Azie, Tengku and Nicole who were also awesome . They all had their own speciality .

Btw my new year resolution was to reduce fast foods so that I can lose weight . So I challenged myself not to eat fast foods for one month . And the result ?? Instead of losing weight.. I gained weight ! WTH ! Arghhhh I'm so tensed up but maybe its also because I don't exercise . My fault too . Hahaha.. whatever sometimes I don't really give a damn about my weight LOL . So that's it for now and till we meet again :  Je t'aime =) À bientôt .

A friendship like no other ~~~

Good Morning Everyone =)

So how is your day today ? Did someone make you happy ? Or did they made you angry ?
Or are you like me ? Neither sad nor happy o.O Remember just keep smiling no matter what happens .
Have you ever seen a friendship which made you say "I want to have a friendship like them" in your heart .
Well for the past 17 years of my life I certainly never saw that kind of friendship but last year I saw this series that made me fall in love with their friendship . Guessing ? Well its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER =)
The friendship between Ted, Marshall, Lily, Barney and Robin is just so awesome that I can feel the love and care between them . I know its just a series but don't tell me that can happen in real life . Surely can if everyone can take the effort and most important of all if everyone can be honest . Even though, they all live a different life, every night they meet at a bar and share their problems together . They also do fun things together and if there is a problem between them, they settle it as soon as possible . If one person does something wrong, they have guts to admit their mistake and ask for forgiveness . Watch that series and you'll understand . Be honest and care for your friends always . That's all from me =)

Facebook

Hey !
Back again !
So one of my friends from Facebook posted this which I felt was that exact same feelings which I experienced . This is what she posted :

"why must i dream about you again and again ? and this

time, you kissed and hugged me saying that you missed me

so much. whyyy ? :'( i felt it man.i felt the way you hugged

and kissed me :'( dear god, if he is my faith.then, please let

us to be together.but,if its not..please get him out of my life

:'( "        - Nisha Rama 2012

Have you ever gone through this situation ? You just feel damn sad and confused because in real life that guy just doesn't care about you . So if he doesn't care about me.. then why on earth does he keep appearing in my dream . Not only does he appear in my dream, but he treats me like a princess and is the most romantic person ever IN MY DREAM . Having these kind of dreams make me sad because I don't know whether I should start forgetting him already or must I keep waiting for him to actually SEE me ?? God please help this child of yours =)

Funny Test

I got this from another blog. Btw its funny so take the test =)

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator ?

Wrong Answer: Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant and close the refrigerator.
Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference, all the animals attend except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The Elephant is in the refrigerator. This tests your memory.
OK, even if you did not answer the first three questions, correctly you still have one more chance to show your abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross. But it is inhabited by crocodiles. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You swim across. All the crocodiles are attending the animal meeting.

This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

Thank you God for answering my prayers. Today I was in a dilemma plus I was sooo confused. I opened my devotional book and was reading it. Bang ! I ran across this sentence which made me felt like God was speaking to me !

"I would rather get criticized, gossiped about, put out of the group or anything than live one more day of my life unhappy and miserable."
The Confident Women Devotional by Joyce Meyer (2nd October)

I really felt confident after reading this book. I will be patient and wait for that day to arrive because right now I'm helpless. Please keep being with me Lord. I need you !
Don't forget to pray today.. God will surely answer your prayer ^^
